Women in Aerospace Medicine (WAM) is a USA-founded international organization dedicated to advancing and supporting women in the field of Aerospace Medicine through leadership, mentorship, professional development, research, networking, and advocacy within aviation and space medicine.

Dr. Nako-Phuthego's Role

Dr. Onalenna Nako-Phuthego serves as a Board Member of WAM (USA), holding the position of Membership and Diversity Chair. She served the 2025–2026 term, and her appointment has been renewed for the 2026–2027 term.

Working Alongside Global Experts

In this role, she works alongside esteemed professionals in the field of Aerospace Medicine — including Sheyna Gifford, an Aerospace Medicine Physician and Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic (USA), NASA Science & Technology Proposal Reviewer, part-time USAF Flight Surgeon, and FAA Senior Aeromedical Examiner.
